Gloucester man charged with robbery of 7-Eleven

Gloucester Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a local man last week after he robbed the 7-Eleven at Route 17 and Hickory Fork Road in White Marsh.

Deputies responded to the robbery at the 7-Eleven in the 5100 block of Route 17 just before 1 a.m. on Friday. The suspect implied he had a weapon and demanded money before fleeing the scene in a vehicle, according to GSO Lt. Jamie Sharp, who said the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash. 

After patrol units flooded the area, Sharp said the suspect was located and arrested a short distance from the robbery scene. He was identified as Shane Phillip Vancleave, 34, of Dobson Drive in Gloucester. 

Vancleave was charged with robbery and was held in the Gloucester Jail on no bond. Sharp said no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. ...
