The Gloucester-based Twisted Botz VEX robotics teams comprised of home schooled high school students each had good showings at the VEX Robotics World Championships held April 17-20 in Anaheim, Cal.

Twisted Botz team 177 competed in the high school science division and finished qualifying in third place with a 9-1 record. The team became captain of the number three alliance and partnered with teams from Haverford, Penn., and Woodbridge. Alliance three went on to defeat alliance number one in the finals to become champion in the science division.

The science division winners then competed in a round robin tournament with the other four division champions, with the overall champions coming from the technology division.
