GHA to hold separate fine arts, photography contests

The Guinea Heritage Association will hold two separate contests—in fine arts and photography—for the first time this year.

“We have had such a large interest in the art contest from fine artists and photographers alike that we have decided to hold two separate contests,” GHA vice president Leslie Belvin said.

The two contests are made possible with the sponsorship of the Fine Art Print Contest by Hogg Funeral Home. “Hogg Funeral Home has strong ties to Guinea and is an advocate for the arts,” Belvin said. “The GHA is very grateful for this sponsorship.”

GHA is extending an invitation to artists and photographers to submit original works for the two contests. The organization is seeking original works in both categories that capture the Guinea spirit and culture.
