GHA honors artists, photographers

“Where is Guinea?”

That was the topic of the program at the Artists and Photographers Reception presented by the Guinea Heritage Association on July 15. 

Approximately 60 people enjoyed the two-hour reception at Buck’s Store Museum, honoring the fine art and photography contestants for the two contests that were held for the first time this year.

It was due to the sponsorship of the fine art contest by Hogg Funeral Home that the GHA was able to add a new contest to the event, that of photography.

The fine art contest has grown in popularity each year since 1991 and recently there has been an increased interest in photography. GHA has worked hard to document Guinea and the Guinea people throughout the years and this new contest will allow them to annually add photographs to the already existing photographic collection, a release stated.
