GENE THOMAS BROWN

Gene Thomas Brown, 84, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020, at his home. A native and lifelong resident of Gloucester, he was the son of the late Robert and Lessie Brown and the widower of Helen Eye Brown. He was a commercial waterman and was the owner for over 50 years of Belroi Upholstery Shop. He loved gardening, cooking, and the Atlanta Braves.

He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Helda Jenkins, Esther May Gainer, Charles Brown, and Loraine Brooks, and James Brown. He is survived by his children, Gene Thomas Brown (Yolanda), Juanita Davis, and Chris Brown (Lisa); stepchildren, Pat White, Becky St. Amour, Donna Moore, and Pam George; brother and best friend, Alton Brown; grandchildren, Timothy Rivera, Steven Davis and Julie White; stepgrandchildren, Donnie Patrick, and Donna Moore; great-grandchildren, Braxton Rivera, Tucker Moore, April Hanson, and Kenneth Rowe; great-great-grandchildren, Neal Kosloske, Cameron Styler, and Adora Hannsen; his best friends, Parker and Midnight, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be private. Memorial donations may be made to either Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society or to Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
