GAYANNE MARJORIE VON BOESELAGER LAMOS

Gayanne Marjorie von Boeselager Lamos, 80, died July 15, 2013.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and wonderful friend.

She was born Nov. 27, 1932 in Milwaukee, Wis., and grew up in Park Ridge, Ill., with her parents, August Clemens von Boeselager II and Beatrice Ann Tolle von Boeselager, and her younger brother, August Clemens von Boeselager III.

In 1954, she received a B.A. degree in sociology from Beloit College in Beloit, Wis., where she met her husband.

Gayanne moved to Williamsburg, Va., with her family in 1966 and then to Gloucester, Va., in 1980. She was an active member of The King’s Daughters of Children’s Hospital and a volunteer at Walter Reed Memorial Hospital.

Gayanne is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard C. Lamos, who was employed by BASF Corporation in Williamsburg; her brother of Des Moines, Iowa; her children, Richard C. Lamos II, of Southgate, Mich., Margaret B. Smith, of Greenville, S.C., Karol Anne Meyer, of El Dorado Hills, Cal., John C. Lamos of Petaluma, Cal., Kristin Lamos of Seville, Spain, Beth Marie Long, of Raleigh, N.C.; 15 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Katherine Gay Lamos.

A graveside service will be held at Windsor Gardens Cemetery, Dutton, Va., on Friday, July 19, 2013, at 11 a.m. with Father James Cowles of St. Therese Catholic Church officiating. The family will receive friends at the home at 7608 Springfield Court in Gloucester immediately following the service.

Arrangements are being made by Andrews Funeral Home of Gloucester.
