Gale Wade Taylor died at Sentara Careplex of Hampton on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021, at the age of 81. Gale was born on July 5, 1940, to the late Glenn Taylor and Hazel Hensel Taylor in Pennsylvania.

Gale was enlisted in the United States Air Force for eight years and then went on to be a firefighter and ultimately ended up finding his niche as a police officer for the City of Greensburg, Pennsylvania. He spent 25 years with the police force and then retired.

Sandra and Gale spent many years in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, but ultimately ended up in Newport News, Virginia.
Gale was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Taylor Thurman. Gale is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra Taylor; daughters, Jennifer Putt (Mike) and Janeane Reynolds (Paul); grandchild, Justin Thurman, and siblings, Eileen Bowser (Mont), Dianne Wyke (Robert), and Dennis Taylor. Services will be held at a later date.
