Members of the Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad along with the Newport News HazMat Team responded to the Gloucester Point Shopping Center Friday afternoon to a tractor trailer with a ruptured fuel tank. The 18-wheeler was apparently crossing the Coleman Bridge heading northbound when a piece of debris struck its fuel tank. AVFR units slowed the leak with a plug and the HazMat team assisted to control the fuel. ...
