Free health education and training programs offered

The Three Rivers Health District and the Three Rivers Medical Reserve Corps, after receiving a grant from the River Counties Community Foundation, are presenting a series of free community educational programs to the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula.

The first scheduled event is a presentation on opioid awareness and safe medication handling. The program, which will include local statistics on the opioid crisis, will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 25, at the PEMS office, 6698 Main Street, Gloucester (next to the post office).

Each participant will receive safe medication disposal bags from the Three Rivers Health District and a medication lock box from the Community Services Board, Wellness and Prevention.
