Free flu shot clinic at RWRH on Oct. 22

Riverside Health System will offer a series of free drive-thru and walk-up flu shot clinics throughout the region, including one planned for Gloucester.

Free shots will be available for ages 14 and over, while supplies last. The clinics begin on Sept. 24 at the Riverside Medical Offices in Newport News. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, there will be a drive-thru clinic at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester.

In light of COVID-19, masking will be required at all times at the clinic, Riverside said. Temperature checks and additional safety screenings will be required prior to any patient receiving a flu shot.

Patients must confirm they have none of the following symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, chills, muscle pain, loss of taste or smell, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fatigue, headache, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.
