Former Gloucester resident now handling PR for royal family

Former Gloucester resident Jason Knauf has been named the new communications secretary for England’s Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, as well as William’s brother, Prince Harry, Kensington Palace announced last week. He will begin his new job in 2015.

Knauf, 30, who now resides in the United Kingdom, currently serves as director of corporate affairs for the Royal Bank of Scotland and has worked for RBS since 2010. He has also worked for HM Treasury and prior to that served as the communications advisor to New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark.

A graduate of Gloucester High School, Knauf holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science and international relations from Victoria University of Wellington and a master’s degree in politics and communication from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
