Dawn Fleet of Lancaster has been appointed as the next Head of School at Ware Academy, the Gloucester school’s Board of Trustees announced this week. Fleet’s appointment is effective Dec. 1.

Fleet has served as the interim head of school since July 1 when former head of school Tom Thomas departed. She also has over 28 years of teaching experience, including 19 years at Ware. 

Fleet holds a bachelor of science degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction. She began her career in the classroom and gained administrative experience as Ware’s academic dean, and enrollment and marketing director before being named the interim head of school.
