The Mathews County Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors will have a joint public hearing at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the historic courthouse on Court Street.

Harvey G. and Sherri D. Hamm have applied for a conditional use permit to allow an event venue on their property at 131 Greene Road in the Glebe.

The property is split-zoned Waterfront Residential and Rural.

The Hamms came before the joint boards last August with the same request, but were denied after a number of residents in the neighborhood objected to the noise, traffic, and safety hazard they felt would result from such a facility.  ...
