Mrs. Eva Pearl Stokes entered into eternal rest at her residence on Thursday, May 19, 2022. She was born on April 6, 1942 to the late Willie Montaque and the late Irene Jarvis.

She was a lifelong native of Gloucester County. She loved her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Stokes Jr., and two children, Geneva Stokes and Mack Stokes.

Left to treasure her memory are six children, Brenda Stokes, Eddie J. Stokes, Carl Stokes, James Stokes, Clifton Stokes, and Charles Stokes; one sister, Shirley Gregory; numerous sisters and brothers-in-law; a host of grandchildren; great- grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A homegoing service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Gleaning Baptist Church, 7749 Dutton Road, Gloucester, Virginia. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A family visitation and public viewing will be held at the church on Friday evening May 27, 2022, from 5-7.
