ELIZABETH VIRGINIA PLATE WYCKOFF

Elizabeth Virginia Plate Wyckoff, age 82, passed away peacefully at home in Hudgins, Va., on June 2, 2013.

Born in Trenton, N.J., Ginny graduated from McKinley/Helene Fuld School of Nursing Class of 1952. Ginny worked as an RN at Helene Fuld Hospital in Trenton, N.J.; Neuropsychiatric Institute in Skillman, N.J., and finished her nursing career and retired from Carrier Clinic in Belle Meade, N.J.

She and her husband also ran the family dairy farm while raising three sons in Skillman, N.J. Ginny was one of the founding members and a volunteer of Montgomery First Aid Squad and helped coordinate fundraising events for the squad.

Ginny had many fond memories from spending her summers with family on Gwynn’s Island, Va., where her mother was born and raised.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Lucy Plate, and sisters, Jean Buchanan and Mary Lou Tomlinson.

Ginny is survived by her husband of 61 years, Raymond A. Wyckoff; her sons, Thomas (Jo Ann Melusky) of Allentown, N.J., Frederick (wife Donna) of Skillman, N.J., John (wife Lisa) of Pennington, N.J.; grandchildren, Kathleen, Raymond, Danielle, Erin, Robert, Cody, Kaylee, and great-grandchildren Jordan, Mason and Miranda.

Visitation hours were held at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home in Mathews, Va., on Wednesday, June 5, from 7-9 p.m. A graveside memorial service will be held in the Blawenburg Church Cemetery in N.J. at a future date.
