ELIZABETH ‘BETSY’ JASON PHILLIPS

Elizabeth “Betsy” Jason Phillips, aged 85, died peacefully in her home in Gloucester Court House, Virginia, on Wednesday, March 30, 2022. She was a graduate of University of Massachusetts and went on to earn a law degree from Western New England Law School. Betsy served as an administrative law judge for the Worker’s Compensation Commission of Virginia for 20 years and was an active member of the Virginia State Bar Association. Betsy was an avid reader and volunteered at her local library. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her three children: Ellie Duley of Portland, Maine; Bob Stewart of Manakin, Va., and Lee Deane of Muckhart, Scotland. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, her brother, and a niece and nephew. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022, at 10 a.m. in Abingdon Episcopal Church in Gloucester. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. Services under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home & Crematory.
