The fifth annual Dog Days of Summer fundraising event raised $3,921 for the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society. This year, the campaign was held on social media because of COVID-19. Every Friday throughout August, participating businesses shared a #FiveDollarFriday fundraiser on their Facebook pages where followers were invited to make a $5 donation to benefit GMHS. A random winner was drawn from donors each week and received a prize package with items from participating businesses. Prize package winners included Kasey Joyce (pictured above), as well as Alexa Blevins Taylor and Jeremy Manning.
