County board to hold special meeting Monday

Supervisor G.C. Morrow, chairman of the Mathews County Board of Supervisors, has called a special meeting of the board at 7 p.m. on Monday in the historic courthouse on Court Street to address issues that were raised at the board’s September meeting.

According to a notice from the Mathews County Administrator’s Office, the meeting’s purpose is to discuss an issue with 674 Morse Point Road, information that was provided during the board meeting, and the performance of specific employees. The notice stated that the board may elect to go into a closed meeting.

A second meeting of the board will begin at 7:10 p.m. or immediately after the first meeting, this one at the request of Supervisors Mike Rowe and Amy Dubois. The purpose of that meeting, said the notice, is to discuss organizational matters and procedures as they relate to the conducting of meetings by the board of supervisors. ...
