 In this week’s Community Spotlight, the locally famous red barn above isn’t the only Ware Neck landmark on display. The barn sits adjacent to a roadside produce stand, not far from Brent & Becky’s. Located on the Route 14 corridor just past Cow Creek in Gloucester, Ware Neck, has long been a tight-knit community. Expansive waterfront properties, wide-open agricultural fields, and working-class family homes share space on this historic peninsula. Known for the Ware River Yacht Club, Brent & Becky’s, the iconic red barn, and Nuttall Country Store, Ware Neck offers a secluded and peaceful lifestyle with sweeping views of one of the Chesapeake Bay’s many tributaries. Perhaps the most recognizable historic landmark in Ware Neck is Nuttall’s Store, top right, which is also home to Ware Neck Post Office.
