Clean the Bay Day

Sixteen members and four guests of the Abingdon Ruritan Club donned their Guinea boots on June 2 to pick up trash at the public boat landing at Brown’s Bay as part of Clean the Bay Day. This community service project was organized and coordinated by Allen Scales and Julie Woolley, co-chairs of the club’s Environment Committee. The group collected 4,100 pounds of trash which was hauled away by B&S Refuse. The truck was contributed by club member Jim Stevens.
