Chemo Cap Project

The Gloucester Ruritan Club held its March meeting at Olivia’s in the Village on Main Street. Chesapeake District Zone 4 Governor Don Sandridge, in back, introduced the Chesapeake District’s Chemo Cap Project and Gloucester Ruritan members presented a bag of knitted chemo hats to a Rappahannock Community College nursing student. RCC students distribute caps made by Chesapeake District Ruritans to area hospice facilities and hospitals. Pictured with Sandridge are, from left, Janee Ealey, a student in the Licensed Practical Nurse Program; Suzanne Nester, student in the Associate Degree in Nursing Program; and knitters Gloria Longest, Sarah Fary (project chairman) and Susan Barbery. Also during the meeting, Ruritan Club president Jackie Beyea presented Fary with a Golden Key Award for bringing new members to the club and Mike Barbery was welcomed to his first meeting as a new member. ...
