A graveside service was held Charles Gilmer “Gil” Sclater, 88, of Richmond, at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Gwynn’s Island Cemetery. He died on Monday, May 30, 2022.

He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Fluvanna, and Poplar Neck Hunt Club.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth “Bettye” Edwards Sclater; daughter, Eva Michele Powers; son, Gene Sclater; stepson, Chris Grinnell; sister, Betty Sclater, and five grandchildren.

The family received friends from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews.
