CECIL ALMOND CLINTON CRUMP

Cecil Almond Clinton Crump, 76, of Hayes, died at his home on June 28, 2013.

Cecil was a member and deacon at Union Baptist Church. He retired from Dow-Badische Company as Supervisor after 30 plus years. Cecil was associated with Poland’s Supermarket and Farm Fresh and retired from Winn-Dixie as a butcher.

He had a passion for nature and loved to be outdoors whenever possible, mowing grass, fishing or playing golf. Cecil was a faithful reader of the Bible, applying this to the way he lived his life. He was an incredible husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, loving his family more than life itself and would do anything for them. He will be missed by his family and many friends.

His parents, Kelley Crump and Ruth Crump Caldwell, and granddaughter Kelley Busch preceded him in death.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 54 years, Evelyn Crump; daughters, Cynthia Marie Thrift and husband Mark, Sharon McFarland and husband Brian, and Kimberly McGuire and husband Joe; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and faithful canine companions, Chico and Diamond.

Graveside funeral service conducted by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Gloucester Point Cemetery. Friends assembled at the cemetery. The family received friends Monday, July 1, 2013, from 7-8 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
