The Rev. Calvin Carroll Fahrion, 88, lay down his burdens and was called home to his eternal rest on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021.
Born in Champaign, Illinois, Calvin was called to the ministry early in life. He was graduated from Tarkio (Mo.) High School, Tarkio College, and Pittsburgh-Xenia seminary. He was ordained in 1958, and served eight churches during his years of service the Lord.
Following retirement, Calvin moved to Gloucester in 2007, and joined Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church (formerly First Presbyterian Church). He continued in service, joining the choir, the Men’s Ensemble, the handbell choir, and conducting a monthly service at Gloucester House. He was a faithful member of the Bay Bells Community Handbell Choir.
Calvin was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosemarie Otte Fahrion.
Calvin is survived and greatly missed by his wife, Barbara Fleming; his children, Lydia and Ben Lee, John and Laura Fahrion, and James and Maria Fahrion; his grandchildren, Andrew and Katrina Fahrion, Renee Fahrion, and Amy and Dennis King. He is also mourned by Barbara’s family, Jared Fleming, Gwen and Daniel D’Amico, their son, Bradyn Barr, whom he baptized, and daughter, Caitlyn Apple, who called him ‘GRANDPA.’

A Celebration of Life was held at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church on Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. At Calvin’s request, everyone was asked to wear festive colors, as this was a celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the music ministry of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church. Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
