C.W. Miller honored by DGIF

C.W. Miller of Harcum, assistant chief for Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Inc., has been awarded the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries’ O.P.S. Protector Challenge Coin.

Miller was among the first group of 23 Virginians to receive this honor to recognize constituent supporters of the DGIF mission. In addition to a specially numbered coin (Miller’s is #15), recipients were given a certificate of appreciation and their names will be permanently maintained in a database in the newly launched Office of Professional Standards website (dgif.virginia.gov/ops).

The purpose of the O.P.S. Protector Challenge Coin is to recognize Virginians who have gone above and beyond to assist the efforts of Conservation Police Officers in the performance of their duties, a release stated.
