George R. “Randy” Burak was reelected to his Abingdon District seat on the Gloucester County School Board last week in a write-in contest during the Nov. 6 general election. Results were not ready by press time last week.

Burak, who has represented the Abingdon District on the board since 1999, had said he would not run again, but decided to conduct a write-in campaign after no candidates had stepped forward for the seat on the ballot. Burak bested Jane P. Wenner, who also conducted a write-in campaign for the vacancy, 854 votes to 562.  ...
