Brent Heath has had a bumper crop of about 10 different varieties of okra this summer and he’s sharing his bounty to help the Woodville Rosenwald School. Heath, a member of the Woodville Rosenwald School Foundation, is sponsoring an okra sale in the gift shop at Brent and Becky’s Bulbs on Tuesdays and Thursdays (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Okra lovers may pick up a dinner-sized bag of assorted okra pods for a $3 suggested donation. Fry it, roast it, or, like Brent, add some pods of raw okra to your vegetable tray and enjoy its natural crunch and nutty flavor. Brent and Becky’s is located at 7900 Daffodil Lane on the way to Ware Neck.
