Bird walk next week at Bethel Beach

The Middle Peninsula Bird Club will hold a bird walk beginning at 8 a.m. next Thursday, March 21, at the Bethel Beach Natural Area Preserve in Onemo. This time of year is good for viewing numerous species of waterfowl and shorebirds, a release said. Be sure to dress for possible winter weather conditions. Cancellations due to weather will be posted on the club’s Facebook page.

To reach Bethel Beach from Mathews Court House, turn left from Route 14 (Main Street) onto Route 611 (Tabernacle Road). Follow the road for 4.3 miles then turn left onto Route 609 (Bethel Beach Road) which ends in about two miles at the beach.

You do not have to be an expert to join the walks; the club is an informal group with no membership fees. All levels of birders are welcome. ...
