BETTY MINOR CREWS

Betty Minor Crews, 84, of Hagerstown, Md., died July 27, 2013 at Meritus Medical Center.

Betty was born in Norfolk, Va., grew up in Bena, Va., graduating from Achilles High School in 1946. She attended Longwood College and in 1951 graduated from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing.

Betty was a nurse in Richmond for several years before moving to Baltimore in 1954 where she worked in nursing administration for 30 years at Union Memorial Hospital. In 1996, she moved to Hagerstown, Md., to be near her daughter and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maryus Taylor Minor and Retha Cuthrell Minor, and brother, John Winfield Minor.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice McWilliams and husband Dr. Wayne McWilliams; four grandchildren, Andrew, Sarah, Colin and Grant McWilliams; and her brother, Gerald Edward Minor.

Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Carol Bookwalter will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment will follow in Gloucester Point Cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the service on Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
