BETH ANNE YOUNG

A graveside funeral service celebrating the life of Beth Anne Young, 76, of Newark, Ohio, will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Rocky Fork Cemetery, 12969 Techniglas Road, Newark 43055, with Pastor Jeff Smith conducting.
Beth Anne passed away peacefully on April 27, 2022 at Otterbein at Granville, Ohio. She was born in Newark on June 13, 1945 to the late Marion and Mary Elizabeth (Levingston) Ashcraft.

Beth Anne graduated from Newark High School, Class of 1963, and worked at the main office of Park National Bank from 1962 until 1979.

Her husband, Robert Young, worked for American Electric Power, living and working in Canton, East Liverpool, Kenton and Van Wert, Ohio. She and Rob also lived abroad in Lahore, Pakistan, for two years, while Rob worked for American Electric Power and Beth Anne worked for the American Consulate for drug enforcement. After Rob’s retirement, they spent six years in Port Haywood, Virginia, where she was a member of the Mathews Yacht Club.

Beth Anne retired from administration work at Gloucester Social Services, Gloucester, Va. She attended the Buckeye Lake Yacht Club; Newark Maennerchor; monthly luncheons for Park National Bank retirees, and luncheons with her 1963 Class of Newark High School.

Survivors include her stepchildren, Gretchen Young (Brian), Mack and Judd Young; stepgrandson, Gunner Mack; sister-in-law, Delores Young; stepbrother, Steve (Nora) Bullock; stepnieces, Nancy Bullock and Ann Bullock (Gavin) Wollenberg; cousin, James (Carol) Levingston, and many friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the joy of her life, her husband, Robert W. Young, in 2019, spending 42 years together and both knew it was the greatest ride you could ever hope for; brother, Robert Allen Ashcraft; aunts and uncles, Chester and Frances Levingston Gault, Robert Eli, and Gladys Marie Levingston; cousin, Jeff Levingston; and stepmother, Jean Ashcraft.

Contributions may be made in memory of Beth Anne to Hospice of Central Ohio.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Central Ohio, Otterbein at Granville, Home Instead, DaVita Dialysis and Licking Memorial Hospital for all of the love and care that was provided to Beth Ann.
