THE FULL HIKE: Registration ends soon for Saturday’s The Full Hike at Beaverdam Park. Hikers will meet at Beaverdam Park’s main entrance at 9 a.m., where they will be shuttled to the Fary’s Mill Road entrance with participants hiking the approximately nine miles back to the main entrance. Those taking part are encouraged to bring water and snacks, wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. The registration fee is $5 and the deadline to sign up is Friday.
FISHING WORKSHOPS: Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism has a pair of kids’ fishing workshops upcoming. The Kids’ Freshwater Fishing Workshop will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27. Join park staff to learn about freshwater fishing at Beaverdam Park. Bring your pole or we have some to borrow. Bring a water bottle, wear sturdy shoes (no open toe, open back, slides or flop-flops).
