The Mathews Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual BBQ fundraiser from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, at Station No. 1 in Mathews Court House. Take-outs will be available. Proceeds from the dinner will go toward payment of the new tanker that was purchased last year. Fundraising chair Ricky Tomlinson suggested that people buy their tickets as soon as possible, since the affair always sells out. Tickets are $15 and are available at Mathews Lawn & Garden at Ward’s Corner and All Around Auto at Dutton.
