Ballots set for November’s general election

With Tuesday’s filling deadline come and gone, candidates for local offices in Gloucester and Mathews counties have been set.

In Gloucester, there will be several contested races, including two seats on the board of supervisors, treasurer and sheriff. There is also one seat (Abingdon District school board) where no candidates have filed; that vacancy will be decided by write-in votes.

Three candidates are running for the three seats on the school board and the incumbents are unopposed for the constitutional officers on the ballot.
