‘Autumn on Main’ to be held Saturday in Mathews

“Autumn on Main and Vintage Market,” a new Mathews fall festival, will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

“This is a community event to draw friends and family from near and far to enjoy some of autumn’s perks along downtown Main Street,” said Emily Allen, executive director of the Mathews Visitor and Information Center.

Among the attractions for the new event are pumpkin decorating, live music, a raffle, and several children’s activities. Belmont Farms is supplying the pumpkins, which will be sold for $5. The regularly-scheduled Mathews Farmers’ Market will also be set up in its usual location at the same time.

Sibley’s General Store will distribute maps and free coffee, cider, and breakfast items courtesy of Richardson’s, Allen said.

Vendors will have booths along Main Street for the duration of the event and a free concert by the Honeywind Bluegrass Boys will take place on the courthouse green from 10 a.m. to noon.
