Attorney seeks to relocate Mathews C.H. office

The Mathews County Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors will hold a joint public hearing on Tuesday to consider a conditional use permit for an office building on a residential property on Buckley Hall Road.

Attorney Jim Sease has applied for the CUP in order to move his legal practice from its current location in the Bank of America building to a two-story private residence across the street. The parcel is just a few lots away from the boundary of the Village Mixed Use District, according to the application.

Among the conditions the planning and zoning department is recommending for the parcel is that the CUP not run with the land and that the building, if sold, would revert to single family residential use. In addition, the property would need to abide by county ordinances regarding parking, permitting and signage. ...
