Armed robbery suspects arrested

A Sunday afternoon robbery in Gloucester resulted in the arrest of two North Carolina residents. The Gloucester Sheriff’s Office responded around 2:30 p.m. Sunday to the armed robbery of a man standing in a Williams Landing Road driveway.

Two suspects in a vehicle pulled up to the victim, produced a handgun and demanded money, according to GSO Capt. Jamie Sharp. The victim cooperated and the two suspects fled the scene. Sharp said the vehicle driven by the suspects had been used in a similar style robbery in Virginia Beach the prior day.

Sharp said police units flooded the area and eventually one deputy spotted the suspect vehicle on Route 17 near Aldi grocery store. The deputy pursued the vehicle southbound on Route 17 to Hickory Fork Road where it turned right with the deputy in pursuit.
