ALLISON MAUREEN VANNOY

Allison Maureen Vannoy, age 55, of Lancaster, Va., passed away unexpectedly on March 31, 2022. She is survived by her spouse, Raymond Vannoy; her mother and “best friend,” Dawn Dalton (Bob); sister, Ella LaRe (Tony); brother, Alex Vickery; nieces, Elissa Butler (Brandon, Owen and Olivia), Penny and Sophia LaRe, Devon Vickery; aunt, Maureen Connolly (Don); uncle, Peter Vickery (Angela); her cousins, Meredith Coughlin (Scott and Blake), Steve Connolly (Zoe, Declan and Jojo) and Mark Vickery; her dear extended family, Graham Brown, Doreen Porter, Tina Adams and Britany Swindle; deceased father, Robin Vickery; grandparents, Vera and Cyril Maloney, Marie and Bert Vickery.

Allison was born in England and came to the USA with her family, when she was 11, residing in Northern Virginia. In 1986, she moved to San Diego, Calif., and lived there for 13 years and then returned to Virginia.

Allison loved to go thrift store shopping and she had a talent of finding vintage items, with interesting histories.

She was a true artisan and her family and friends received many beautiful gifts that she designed. Many times, when you went to visit her, you would find her sitting at her craft table working on these design pieces.

Over the years her other love was caring for dogs and cats. She volunteered at animal shelters and early last year, she rescued her beloved black lab, “Jake.”

Allison will be truly missed.

To honor Allison, a donation can be made to the Animal Care Society, P.O. Box 121, Mathews, Va. 23109.

A celebration of Allison’s life will be held later in the year.
