A funeral for Alice Christine Ferguson Sheppard, 96, of Hallieford, will be held at noon Friday, Aug. 11 in Ebenezer Baptist Church, Cobbs Creek. She died Aug. 5, 2017.

She was born Aug. 3, 1921 in Hallieford, and was the third and youngest daughter to the late Judson and Nellie Ferguson. During her 38-year tenure of teaching, she taught in Gloucester, Charles City, Middlesex and Mathews counties.

She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Sheppard Jr. 

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Monnita Clayborne, and a step-granddaughter, both of Baltimore, Maryland.

Viewing will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial in the church cemetery will follow the service.
