Adopt-A-Highway cleanup

Even though the Gloucester Ruritan Club has not been able to hold its monthly dinner meetings recently due to COVID-19, the group remains active. Members met early on June 20 to pick up eight bags of trash for the club’s Adopt-A-Highway objective. The club’s section of highway runs from Route 606 (Fary’s Mill Road) at Route 17 to the secondary entrance to Beaverdam Park. Those taking part in the cleanup were, from left, Janet Leigh, Barbara Bauer, Harry Thomas, Beverly Thomas, Henry Thompson (chairman of the club’s Environment Committee and project lead), Lou Serio, Rachel Serio, and, not pictured, Susan Walton.
