Administration changes take place in Gloucester County

A change has been made in Gloucester County’s administration following the resignation of Deputy County Administrator H. Reed Fowler on Nov. 1.

For the time being, Assistant County Administrator Carol Steele has been given the title of Interim Deputy County Administrator.

“The Deputy County Administrator position previously held by Mr. Fowler is indeed vacant, and Ms. Steele is currently named ‘Interim Deputy County Administrator’—a title change that will become permanent (minus the ‘interim’ part) when Mr. Fowler’s position is once again filled,” County Administrator Brent Fedors said.

“This change is being made (assistant changing to deputy) to bring our position title terminology into alignment with current common practice in more developed jurisdictions of the commonwealth (similar to the same action taken a few years back with Mr. Fowler’s position, then occupied by Mr. Garrey Curry).
