Absentee voting underway; Tuesday deadline to register

Tuesday, Oct. 12 is the final day to register in order to vote in the Nov. 3 general election. Absentee voting is also currently underway for those who may be unable to cast their ballots in person on Election Day.

Individuals who would like to register should either stop by their local registrar’s office or visit www.vote.virginia.gov. To verify that you are a registered voter, or to update your voting status, go to www.vote.virginia.gov/search. The site will show ID requirements, polling location, district information, the upcoming ballot, absentee ballot status, voter history and local electoral board information.

Qualified Virginia voters may vote absentee by mail or in-person, but must meet one of the 19 eligibility requirements listed on the Virginia Absentee Ballot Application.
