Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue’s fund drive is underway, with solicitation letters going to residents throughout the service area to help the department meet its financial needs.

This year’s goal is $100,000; a donation of $50 per household would help AVFR meet this goal, according to the mailer. Donations can be made directly on the department’s website at www.AVFR.com and clicking on the donation page.
