A helping hand to HAM

Edith Turner, center, co-chair of the Mathews County Democratic Committee, presents a $1,000 check to volunteers with Hands Across Mathews, from left, Andy Jackson, Raymond Willis and Joe Noonan, who is the current president of the nonprofit organization. The funds will be used to help local families who have suffered some crisis that puts them in need of the basic amenities of food, clothing, shelter, prescription medications, or fuel.
