Anne Moore Shortt, age 63, of Hayes, died on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. Anne was born on May 1, 1963 to the late Robert French Moore and Anne Yeardley Fowler Moore. Anne loved to be outdoors. She enjoyed going to parks, beaches, or even just strolling down the street. She also enjoyed going to the Outer Banks to spend time with her family fishing, boating, and swimming in the ocean at their beach house. She was smart, kind, selfless, generous without bounds, and loved her family more than anything. In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her good friend and caretaker, Ernestine Boyd. Anne is survived by her husband, Gregory Dean Shortt; her children, Gregory Shortt and Yeardley Shortt (Chris Davis); her grandchildren, Mitchell Shortt and Savannah Davis; her brothers, Bob Moore and Bill Moore; and her nephews, Ethan Moore and Christian Moore. Anne is also survived by her beloved Morkie, Shelly. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Hogg Funeral Home on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 4 p.m. The inurnment will be private.
