The Middlesex County Museum will host a program on preserving architecture at 3 p.m. Sunday in the historic courthouse, 877 General Puller Highway, Saluda. Joanna McKnight from the Virginia Department of Historic Resources will present the educational talk on historic buildings in Virginia and how to best sustain and protect them now and into the future. “Middlesex County is blessed with an extensive collection of historic buildings dotting our scenic location here on the Chesapeake Bay,” a museum release stated. “Spanning a time frame from the 1700s through the 1900s, these buildings are full of architectural details that set them apart from modern homes built today. “With elements such as handmade bricks, ornamental embellishments of crown molding, wainscoting, and corbels, and hand-blown glass in their doors and windows, they are full of charm and pedigreed presence.
