Woman’s Club to hold lectures on Wednesdays in July

The Gloucester Woman’s Club will host a series of talks of local and historic community interest on Wednesday evenings throughout July at historic Edgehill House, 6805 Main Street, Gloucester. The topics are: July 1: “Luna,” a colonial-style tall ship that sails today; July 8: “The Dragon in Our Midst,” a local tributary; July 15: “Traveling a Marine Highway,” a brief history of steamboat life in and around Gloucester; July 22: “Daffodils,” their history and economic impact on Gloucester County; and July 29: “Robert Mush/Mursh,” a Pamunkey Indian School student and soldier in the Continental Army. Each 35- to 40-minute talk will be followed by a brief question-and-answer period. Light refreshments will be served.
