A vehicle accident last week in Gloucester took the life of a 5-year-old, according to Virginia State Police. 

VSP Sgt. Michelle Anaya said the VSP was called to the 1200 block of George Washington Memorial Highway at 5:21 p.m. Aug. 8 to investigate a single vehicle accident that occurred on private property.

Anaya said the driver of a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado was backing up in the driveway when the truck ran over the 5-year-old child. She said the child was taken to Riverside Walter Reed Hospital where he later died of his injuries. ...
