Three improvement projects on parts of Route 17 in Gloucester are slated to wrap up in the next month or so.Work on the Edgehill intersection of Routes 17 Business and Route 14 at Gloucester Main Street has an end date of sometime in February. This work is adding turn lanes and sidewalks in an effort to reduce driver delay and improve pedestrian access, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

At the north end of Route 17 Business, where it intersects with Route 17, construction of a sidewalk, crosswalks, pedestrian islands, and pedestrian crossing equipment is slated to end in January.

A project at Gloucester Point is also scheduled for completion in January. In this job, a sidewalk and crosswalks are being constructed along Route 17 southbound between Lafayette Heights Drive and Bellehaven Drive.
