Woodville School tax exemption request to be considered Tuesday

The Gloucester Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the T.C. Walker Education Center Auditorium. The hearing will be held to consider granting tax exemption to the Woodville Rosenwald School Foundation.

The foundation made its request to supervisors on Sept. 1. Foundation president Dr. Wesley Wilson stated the group’s desire to renovate the Woodville School at Ordinary for future educational and historical use.

Debris Removal

Also on the agenda for the meeting is an update on the debris clean-up efforts on Taliaferro Lane. During the last board work session, board member Chris Hutson expressed his disappointment by how much work was left to be done when told that the funding for the clean-up had essentially been reached.

Hutson had asked a resident of the neighborhood, David King, to attend the meeting and give his view of the situation. King said that he and others on the road still had large debris piles in front of their yards.
