‘Wonders of the Water’

Abingdon Ruritan Club supported the Guinea Heritage Association with that group’s “Wonders of the Water” event, held on Saturday at Buck’s Store Museum, Bena. Club members helped with lunch by providing pizzas, chips and cold bottled water. Raven Cash, chair of the club’s Public Services Committee, organized, planned and coordinated the club’s participation. Ginny Snowden, a member of the GHA board of directors (second from right), is shown here with, from left, club committee members Betsy Tuttle, Julie Woolley, Dianne Woolley and, at right, Ann Dugas. Club members taking part but not pictured included Cash and Sid Dugas. “Wonders of the Water” is a GHA program designed to teach children ages 5-10 about the local waterways and nautical heritage.
